More about Dr. Hoss

Dr. Hoss wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember.  Growing up, her family had several cats and a family dog, Maggie.  Maggie had several health problems that required taking her to veterinary specialists.  A young Dr. Hoss made sure to tag along on these veterinary trips to learn as much as she could.  It was the appreciation for the way her pets were cared for, along with the fascination at the level of treatment they received that confirmed her desire to enter veterinary medicine.

Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hoss completed a year-long specialty internship program at a large (60+ doctor) practice in New Jersey.  This experience exposed her to rotate through all the many specialties available in veterinary medicine.  Although she enjoyed the experience, she was drawn to general practice, because of her love of the human-animal bond and the relationships she is able to develop with long-term clients throughout the lives of their pets.

Dr. Hoss was drawn to Cascade Hospital for Animals because of their high standards of care which would allow her to continue to practice the quality of medicine she had learned.  She values the opportunity to treat a variety of problems in pets throughout their lives; from chronic skin conditions to administering chemotherapy to patients with cancer.  Dr. Hoss keeps herself informed of the latest advancements in treatment options for her patients.  This desire to aid patients in need, led to her becoming certified in Stem Cell Therapy, used as a form of treatment for patients with chronic arthritis.  Dr. Hoss's true passion is internal medicine, analyzing the puzzle and mental challenges of figuring out a complicated cause and being rewarded with a happy and healthy pet!

Dr. Hoss and her husband, Jason, live near Caledonia, and they enjoy spending time with their friends and family, working in the yard and garden, and outdoor activities including bicycling, hiking, and sailing their little Sunfish sailboat.  She also loves to curl up on the couch with a good book.
