More about Dr. Sullivan

As a young child, Dr. Sullivan was always drawn to animals as they were drawn to her. She cannot recall a time when she did not expect to be a veterinarian. Her uncle, to whom she was close and respected tremendously is also a small animal veterinarian. This provided her the opportunity to see the ins and outs of the profession throughout her childhood. As a veterinary student, she gained even more, experience working as an assistant at his clinic.

After graduation, Dr. Sullivan practiced in northern Michigan (Cadillac) for 7 years. While there she would periodically need to refer patients for orthopedic procedures or diagnostic tests that her small clinic was unable to perform. Often she recommended Cascade Hospital for Animals due to their high standards for care, customer service, and excellent reputation. When her family decided to move back to West Michigan, she knew that Cascade would be a wonderful match for her.

Dr. Sullivan loves everything she does in veterinary medicine. She believes that the variety of cases she sees on a daily basis promises that no day will be dull. She takes pride in knowing that she is helping people in addition to the animals she treats, whether it is by addressing how to prevent naughty puppy behavior or helping the elderly cat thrive despite worn out kidneys. Dr. Sullivan has a special interest in dentistry and oral surgery. Addressing painful and infected teeth is an often overlooked part of animal care. The visual improvements seen in a pet's health after a dental procedure constantly remind her why she chose this profession.

Dr. Sullivan is a devoted mother of two highly imaginative children, Meghan and Brady. They share their home with two calico colored felines who take the job of living a pampered life seriously.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family. They can be found at recitals, soccer games or most commonly on outdoor adventures enjoying many of the local trails and parks found in the area. She also enjoys baking, gardening and will never turn down a good book.
